In 1972, my family took up the sport of Archery. As a family we learned and advanced in the Junior Olympian program.

In 1977, I attended my first multi sport games at the Canada Summer Games in Newfoundland, finishing just outside the medals in fourth by 2 points. I came home from that event with a dream to one day attend an Olympics.

My coaching career began in 1984 working with the Junior Olympian program in the province. Since that time I have worked successfully with both children and adults, with a plan to work towards completing my level 4/5 in order to fulfill that childhood dream of going to an Olympics.

As an athlete I have attended two World Championships finishing in the top 32 in the target event. In Victoria, B.C in 1997 and France in 1999 with my shooting pretty much coming to a lesser level after that. I have competed at the National level for many years with five Canadian National titles and a couple of Canadian records. I am now working towards my level 4/5 certification having attended the National Coaching Institute in August 2004.
